Crichton Reynolds
RAOC

Crichton Reynolds was captured at Singapore and was sent to work on the Burma-Thailand Railway in June, 1942, just south of Three Pagodas Pass.

In 1944, he was put aboard the Asaka Maru, about 4600 tons, formerly known as the Glasgow Belle and sometimes listed as the Osaka Maru. The Asaka Maru sailed for Moji, Japan with 750 POWs. On August 14, 1944, it ran around during a typhoon, 200 yards from the shore of Bashi Group near Luzon.

Mr. Reynolds worked in the Osaka ship yards and the Aomi Steel Mill until the end of the war.

He is now 84 and would like to hear from anyone on that ship.
